Chris Rumfitt

Chris Rumfitt

Founder & Chief Executive

Chris founded Field in 2014 after spending six years as a Managing Director at one of the world’s biggest PR agencies, and five years as Head of Communications at Network Rail. His specialist advisory services include communications strategy, crisis & issues communications and industrial relations communications.

Across a twenty year career in political and corporate communications, Chris has worked in most sectors but has particular strengths in energy, railways, aviation, sustainability, property and housing. He started his career working with the Labour Party, including on the 1997 general election campaign and then in Tony Blair’s Downing Street within Alastair Campbell’s formidable press office operation.

Lucy Holbrook

Lucy Holbrook

Managing Director

Lucy is Managing Director responsible for managing the day to day operations of the agency. Lucy has a particular specialism in developing and implementing intregrated campaigns, bringing together public affairs, media, digital and marketing strategies. She provides strategic advice to a range of clients at Field including The FA, Arcadis and Ryse, the hydrogen supplier. Prior to joining Field she was a Partner at Pagefield where she advised major global brands including Kellogg’s, Discovery Networks, Budweiser Brewing Group and Airbnb on their communications activity. Lucy also spent six years as a senior lobbyist at Connect Communications working with a range of clients in the property sector and has also worked in local government at Cardiff City Council.

Maurice Cousins

Maurice Cousins

Director

Maurice joined Field Consulting in September 2018. He has over a decade of experience working in public affairs, campaigns and providing strategic advice to leading corporate brands. At Field, Maurice works with clients in the housing, rail and property development clients. He offers a range of bespoke services, including thought leadership, CSR strategy development, issues and reputation management.

Prior to joining Field, Maurice was Director of Insight and Strategy at Westbourne. He has experience advising clients across a range of sectors and industries, including onshore oil and gas, renewables, driverless cars, rail, food and drink, High Net Worth Individuals and tech. He previously worked at Connect Communications, Conservative Friends of Israel, the Centre for Social Cohesion, Nothing British, the anti-BNP campaign, and as a Parliamentary researcher for Douglas Carswell, the former Conservative MP.

Rob Jeffery

Rob Jeffery

Director

Rob leads our energy and environment practice and has over a decade of experience driving legislative and regulatory change for disruptors in the sector. He joined Field from the challenger energy supplier OVO where he led their public affairs team for four years. He helped Edelman grow their energy practice and has also worked in house for wind energy trade body RenewableUK. Current clients include hydrogen supplier Ryse, sustainable fuel producer Velocys and the Carbon Capture and Storage Association.

Jake Sumner

Director

Jake has three decades experience in politics, policy, communications, campaigns and projects in national, regional and local government and private and voluntary sectors.

At Field Jake’s roles include supporting High Speed Rail Industry Leaders, the Crossrail to Ebbsfleet campaign and leaders in green and smart mobility, Alstom. His policy expertise includes local government, transport, environment, housing and industrial strategy. Previous roles include Special Adviser to the Communities & Local Government Secretary in the Labour Government and Chief Adviser and Chief of Staff to the Shadow Business Secretary during the 2010-2015 Parliament, where Jake helped develop the idea of a modern industrial strategy. Other roles include as Associate Director at a think tank, serving as an elected councillor including as a Cabinet Member and Vice- Chair of Planning, positions at several councils and at Transport for London including leading the Crossrail funding campaign and writing the communications strategy.

Alex Morton

Alex Morton

Consultant

Alex joined Field Consulting in May 2016. Before that, he was Special Adviser to the Prime Minister for two and a half years at No10, focused on all matters relating to DCLG, including housing, planning, and local government. He also drafted the Conservative 2015 Manifesto on those areas. Prior to working in No10, he led on housing and planning at the influential Policy Exchange think tank. He has also worked in the civil service Fast Stream and in the House of Commons.

Deborah James

Associate Director

Deborah is an Associate Director, responsible for running accounts across our high-profile transport and infrastructure portfolios including Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), Alstom and The Nichols Group.

With an integrated communications background, Deborah was seconded to GTR at the height of an industrial relations dispute. Deborah supported the organisation by initiating a crisis communications strategy and coordinating the work across all of the organisation’s communications disciplines. Deborah previously worked on Gatwick Airport’s campaign for a second runway as a core member of the team that set the strategic direction of the campaign. Prior to that, she worked for the consumer group, Which? where she worked on the political activation of the organisation’s consumer campaigns.

Clarke Heron

Clarke joined Field Consulting in February 2018, from a leading Glasgow based public affairs consultancy where he specialised in local government and planning communications. Clarke works predominantly across our planning and development portfolio to secure planning consents for clients in a variety of sectors including housing, retail and renewable energy. With client interests located across the country ranging from housing associations such as L&Q and Home Group, nationwide infrastructure providers to private developers and renewable energy companies, Clarke has wide ranging experience in the development sector.

Prior to his move into public affairs consultancy, Clarke attended the University of Glasgow, graduating with an MA in Business Management and Politics.

Jonathan Andrew

Account Manager

Jon is an Account Manager who works with a number of clients in the transport sector including Govia Thameslink Railway, the Railway Industry Association and the Rail Supply Group, on media relations and public affairs. Jon also has experience in the energy and property sectors, having worked with clients such as the Carbon Capture and Storage Association and Home Group.

Jon joined Field Consulting in 2016, having gained public affairs experience at Portland and Maitland Political. Jon is a graduate from the University of Exeter where he helped to run the University’s debating society.

Mark Holmes

Mark Holmes

Account Manager

Mark joined Field Consulting as an Account Manager in January 2019. His work at Field primarily focuses on political engagement and policy development across Field’s energy practice.

Mark was previously the Interim Director of the Conservative Environment Network, an influential environmental lobby group that works closely with Conservative politicians. He has previous experience working for senior politicians in Parliament including as an advisor to Lord Deben, the Chairman of the Climate Change Committee. Before that he worked for an international sustainability consultancy, advising some of the world’s biggest businesses on their environmental and social impact.

He started his career as a researcher and editor working for Jonathan Aitken on his best-selling biography on Margaret Thatcher.

Hannah McLaughlin

Hannah works across a range of sectors including transport and infrastructure. She assists in the day to day running and management of accounts, working with clients to develop effective engagement strategies. Prior to joining Field, Hannah worked at Cicero as well as another major London agency, and as a public affairs and events assistant for a major intergovernmental organisation.

Rachael Shanahan

Rachael is an experienced consultant with an integrated communications background across stakeholder engagement, public affairs, media relations, social media and marketing. She is responsible for the day to day management of high profile clients across the property, sport, transport and infrastructure sectors including Berkeley Homes, Capital & Counties, The FA and Govia Thameslink Railway. She has extensive experience in managing complex community engagement programmes with a variety of stakeholders, ranging from local residents to politicians. Prior to joining Field Consulting, Rachael worked in both the Public Affairs and Consumer practices of Edelman.

Felix Shaw

Felix Shaw

Account Manager

Felix joined Field in May 2019 as an Account Manager, bringing considerable experience working for clients in the built environment and infrastructure sectors. He previously worked as the in-house Communications Manager at a town-planning consultancy, where he played a key role in delivering public consultation and local political engagement strategies on some of the largest regeneration projects in London. Felix has a keen interest in development and placemaking and in a previous role led on providing secretariat services for the All Party Parliamentary Group for London’s Planning and Built Environment.

At Field, Felix is supporting clients across housing, infrastructure and transport, including multinational design and build consultancy Arcadis and train operator LNER.

Olivia Gass

Senior Account Executive

Olivia joined the Field team in 2017.  She is currently a Senior Account Executive working across Field’s infrastructure, sport and energy portfolios. Her clients include The FA, Velocys, Heylo and Berkeley Homes. Prior to joining Field, Olivia worked for PHA Media’s Public Affairs team and PGW Global Risk Management.

Olivia graduated from the University of Nottingham with an MSci in International Relations and Global Issues.

Matthew Segarty

Senior Account Executive

Matt joined Field Consulting in 2017 and works across the transport, infrastructure, and energy sectors on national and local public affairs campaigns. His clients include Alstom, Arcadis, Govia Thameslink Railway, and the Carbon Capture and Storage Association. Prior to joining Field, Matt worked in Parliament for a Conservative MP, and later for the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety.

Matt graduated from Keble College, Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and holds an MA in International Conflict Studies from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London.

Jonathan joined Field Consulting as an Account Executive in September 2018 and works across rail, housing, infrastructure and sport sectors. His clients include Alstom, The FA,The Rail Industry Association and Berkeley Homes. Prior to joining Field, Jonathan completed two public affairs internships – with Cicero Group’s political risk team and at Field Consulting over the summer of 2017. Jonathan graduated from the University of York with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Mary Dewar

Account Executive

Mary joined Field Consulting in August 2019 and works across a range of projects including housing, rail and energy. Her clients include London North Eastern Railway, Ryse and Arcadis.

Prior to joining Field, Mary completed a series of internships with Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat as well as an internship with the Sevenoaks Conservative Association. Mary graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in history and politics.

Kelsey Turpin

Kelsey Turpin

Office Manager

Kelsey is Field’s Office Manager. She has several years’ experience working in the Public Affairs sector in London. Kelsey also brings with her experience in the Oil and Gas and Construction industries in Australia.

Prior to joining Field she worked for both Westbourne Communications and Cicero Group. Kelsey graduated from Edith Cowan University Australia with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Management and Human Resource Management.
