Rob Jeffery, who led Ovo Energy’s Public Affairs team for almost four years, has joined Field Consulting to set up a new energy practice. Having already established sector specialisms in housing and transport, Field will provide the same unique offering to energy clients. This combines the fresh, disruptive attitude of a small and rapidly growing agency with deep sector expertise.
Chris Rumfitt, Field Consulting Founder & Chief Executive, said:
“Rob is one of the leading energy public affairs consultants with experience driving real policy change for a range of businesses and working closely not only with Government, but also regulators and other statutory bodies. His policy expertise will prove invaluable as we grow our new energy division.”
Rob Jeffery added:
“I am thrilled to be joining Field at such a pivotal time for the energy industry. Decarbonisation, digitisation and decentralisation are turning the political consensus, traditional business models and the regulatory framework in the energy sector upside down. This presents unprecedented opportunities and threats to every single player in the industry so the need to engage with Government and regulators has never been more important.”
During Rob’s time at OVO, now the UK’s largest independent energy supplier, he helped steer the business through the Competition and Markets Authority Energy Market Investigation and has long been championing the price cap which is now going through Parliament. Prior to joining OVO, Rob helped grow Edelman’s Public Affairs energy practice and before that worked for wind energy trade body RenewableUK.
Field Consulting was founded four years ago by Chris Rumfitt, former MD of Public Affairs at Edelman. The agency has grown rapidly to a 12strong team with cross-party and sector specialists including Jake Sumner, Alex Morton and Lyndsey Drea. Our full client list can found at https://www.appc.org.uk.
